I will probably be sticking to this makeup look for a while!

Sadly, I didn’t get a photo of my base makeup this time, but I did manage to take a shot of the color products I’ve been using these days. So here is what I have been reaching for lately:

Sunscreen

Goodal Heartless Calming Mineral Filter Sunscreen (purchased myself)

My skin is super sensitive to sunlight—one second outside and I’ll already have new dark spots on my cheek, so sunscreen is non-negotiable. I usually prefer mineral sunscreens because chemical ones tend to sting my eyes just don’t feel as protective. But mineral formulas often make my foundation pill or slide off… until I found this one! It doesn’t mess with my base makeup and barely leaves a white cast. I actually like a little tone-up effect, so I don’t really mind it. But some people might care about this, so I hope this helps you make a better choice!

Primer

Ph. Hubby Primer Sun Balm (PR sample)

I can’t go without primer anymore—especially because I hate the moment that my base breaks up around my nose or fine lines. It goes on super smooth and somehow keeps my foundation in place without lifting. It has a slight tint but it’s barely noticeable. The finish feels like the perfect balance of softness and light hydration. It works great for my dry skin, which is also quite thin and sensitive!

Foundation

WAKEMAKE Water Glow Coating Balm in 01 Rosy Porcelain (purchased myself)

This is my go-to for long days out or when I want to look extra put-together. It’s hydrating enough for my dry skin, even though I’ve heard others say it feels greasy. I think applying it with a brush makes a difference. I especially love how it layers seamlessly when I touch up—it doesn’t get cakey. If you can get your hands on the brush set they release sometimes, go for it!

Powder

Dasique Correcting Finish Powder in 02 Milky Light (purchased myself)

This powder is great for setting areas that tend to get shiny. It has some shimmer, so if you prefer a matte finish, I’d recommend going with shade 01 instead. The correcting effect isn’t super strong in shade 02 ( and maybe not in shade 01 either), but that’s fine with me. The shimmer is super fine and not in-your-face, but just a heads up if shimmer isn’t your thing! It doesn’t mattify too much, which I love. And the size? It’s more than enough—I’ll probably never use it up in my life.

Shading

Etude Contour Powder in 03 Cool Tone Rediscovered (purchased myself)

I’m on my second one of these! It gives such a natural contour—even for someone like me, who’s not great at contouring. I usually mix the top and bottom shades for my jawline and use the top one for my nose. The powder doesn’t kick up a lot, and the price is reasonable. Plus, the case closes magnetically–and I’m kind of obsessed with that.

Concealer

LUNA Grinding Conceal Butter in 01 Salmon Beige, The Saem Cover Perfection Triple Pot Concealer 03 Correct Up Beige & 04 Tone Up Beige (all purchased myself)

Dark circles are my biggest concern, so I always take my time with concealer. The LUNA concealer has a soft, slightly primer-like texture, so I apply it first and let it set for about 5 seconds before blending it out with a puff. Then I layer on slightly thicker The Saem pot concealer to build more coverage where I need it. If you have thin under-eye skin like me, this method might give you natural-looking finish!

Eyeshadow Palette

Espoir Lookbook in Sangah Moonlight (purchased myself)

Sadly Espoir doesn’t make lookbook series anymore—but I still use it because power never dies, right? The texture of this shadow is a bit stiff, so it doesn’t show strong color right away—and to be honest, I’m not a big fan of this kind of formula. Most of the shadows have a matte base, but there’s a touch of glitter in all of them. So while they look matte at first, they actually have a subtle shimmer—kind of like matte shadows with a hint of sparkle. The shimmer is a little on the bold side, and even the tiniest particles really stand out. That said, the finer glitter works well for daily looks, but the chunkier bits… It’s a bit much for me sometimes. Anyway, I wear them—I’m basically a crow. I like shiny things.

Blush

Freshian Egg-like Cream Blush 01 Fuzzy & 03 Healthy Smile (purchased myself)

I’ve been avoiding powder blushes lately because they make my skin feel dry and emphasize fine lines. That’s why I love cream blushes! It just feels better on my skin. Also, I love layering two blush shades–it feels more like watercolor painting. But these two colors don’t quite match, so I’m thinking of switching to 01 Fuzzy and 02 Sunshine for more of a summer vibe.

Mascara

Rom&nd Han All Fix Mascara V01 Volume Black (purchased myself)

Well, this is the mascara I wanted to try something new instead of my usual one. I used to stick with Clio’s mascara, but I started to get bored–so I decided to try out! I ended up buying two in the same shade, but sadly, they’re too weak to give me the volume I want. Still, I bought them, so I’m going to use them up anyway!

Brows

Espoir The Brow Balance Pencil in 02 Cool Grey (purchased myself)

Since my brows are naturally bold, I tried to find something that would blend in more smoothly. A lot of other products either feel like I’m drawing with a crayon or break too easily–but this one glides on nicely and has just the right amount of product. It works well for both outlining and filling in.

One tip: test it on your hand first before applying to you brows. That way, it goes on more evenly and doesn’t clump up.

Lips

Holika Holika Melting Blur Lip Pot in 11 Dawning (purchased myself)

Indeed, I’ve been using the Dasique lip pots, but lately I’ve decanted them into containers to carry around. Since they were part of gift set, I’m not exactly sure which shade is which–that’s why I’m only introducing the Holika Holika lip pots this time.

The one I swatched in the photo is from Holika Holika. It looks a bit blurred, but still has some dewy finish. So if you love blurred lips but hate the dryness that often comes with them, this one might be perfect for you. Dasique is slightly more oily at first but tends to dry down later. If you layer a moisturizing balm or pot on top, it becomes much more wearable.

I also used a dewy lip product that’s not shown in the photo–Fwee’s jelly pots. They give a watery, sheer color that works beautifully as a top coat over blurred lips. It doesn’t mess up the color underneath, and just adds a fresh, glossy glow.
