To briefly explain how I came to try the BASHAUP No-Wash Hair Treatment, it started with the state of my hair. It used to be long enough to reach my hips — mainly because I didn’t want to spend too much time managing it. I preferred the convenience of long hair that didn’t require frequent trimming. But from time to time, I dyed it for a little change, and that’s when my hair started splitting at the ends and becoming rough overall. It got worse over time: brushing took ages, and drying my hair became a daily struggle.

Eventually, I cut it short early this year. Still, my hair didn’t get any easier to manage. The ends remained rough, and the overall texture felt damaged. Since my hair is naturally curly, straightening it with a flat iron became a must — but the heat only made the rough ends even worse. Even with other hair care products, my hair didn’t seem to recover. That’s when I discovered BASAP through Wadiz and decided to fund it, hoping it could finally help.

The best part of the BASAP No Wash Treatment is that I can use a hair dryer after applying it, and it still protects my hair from the heat. While this may not be a distinctive feature exclusive to BASAP’s products, it remains a critical factor for me who regularly use a flat iron. Although other products may offer similar levels of heat protection, few brands demonstrate the same level of confidence when it comes to flat iron usage. Consequently, I chose this product without hesitation.

This review examines BASAP’s No-Wash Treatment through three key aspects: (1) texture, (2) overall finish, and (3) restoration of hair condition. First, the texture of BASAP’s Leave-In Treatment is similar to that of a lightweight lotion, though slightly thicker and more elastic in consistency. However, due to its slightly viscous texture, a light slippery film remains on the hands right after application, rather than disappearing immediately. It’s not greasy, but it doesn’t disappear immediately either. If you prefer a completely clean finish, that might feel a bit inconvenient. Nevertheless, I personally regarded it as acceptable given the product’s intended function.

Secondly, in terms of finish, I focus on how the hair feels after blow-drying following the application of this product. Some leave-in treatments tend to harden when you blow-dry afterward, but this one doesn’t. It keeps the hair smooth and soft without clumping or feeling stiff. I especially liked how my fine, frizzy hair settled down with a bit of weight after drying — not oily, but slightly more controlled and moisturized.

The scent is another plus for me. I generally don’t like it when my shampoo and hair care products fail to complement each other, yet that occurs quite frequently. My shampoo usually has a floral scent, whereas many hair treatments tend to be relatively neutral or musky. Thankfully, this one has a soft floral fragrance that blends well with my shampoo — light and pleasant enough without being overpowering.

Lastly, I’ll finish this review by discussing the hair recovery aspect. The most important part, of course, is hair recovery. I believe the main reason for using hair care products is to prevent hair damage and to help restore its condition. In general, hair care products are expected to deliver smooth and glossy results similar to straight hair, yet for someone like me naturally curly hair, such outcomes are difficult to achieve through products alone. But the thing is that this product almost achieved my goal.

I personally noticed two aspects of improvement in my hair condition. As previously noted, the ends of my hair had been significantly damaged, but they showed gradual improvement with continued use of this product. It wasn’t an immediate result, but a gradual improvement. After using about half a bottle, I noticed that the ends of my hair had regained their softness. The second area of improvement was the reduction in overall frizz throughout the hair. My curly hair generally appears puffy and unmanageable, but this treatment improved its manageability by adding weight and smoothness, reducing overall frizz without flattening the hair.

Overall, BASAP’s Leave-In Treatment can be recommended as a reliable and versatile product suitable for a wide range of users, especially those with damaged or frizzy hair. That said, this product is not recommended for use on completely dry or unwashed hair. When applied to dry hair, the product doesn’t spread evenly—due to its texture—and leaves the hair looking generally greasy, which makes styling more difficult. Still, using a slightly richer amount on the ends seems to work just fine.

I’ve already secured several bottles through the Wadiz funding, so I plan to keep using them for the now. However, since the brand doesn’t operate an official website and is currently available only via crowdfunding, which makes me unsure about being able to repurchase it later. I truly hope the brand becomes stable enough for its products to be purchased more easily and consistently in the future. With that, I’d like to wrap up this review.
